Electrolux is not the most inspiring white goods company. They make good vacuum cleaners, sure, but they aren't known for ground-breaking marketing. Their new program "Vac from the sea" is starting to change that.
Since they are a heavy user of plastics in the manufacturing of their products, and there is an increasing (so it seems) amount of plastic pollution in the oceans, Electrolux has come up with a novel idea to help both dynamics: They will use their "sucking" ability to clean-up ocean plastic pollution and use that recycled plastic to make new vacuums.
A simple idea that is much more than a nice cause. Why? First, their product and what it does is firmly embedded in the program. Second, the movement is very timely and truly culturally leading. Third, it is mutually beneficial to both the Company and the Environment. Finally, the produced vacuums look pretty cool. Beautiful.
